NAKED 3 Swatches

Hey beauties !!!

It's swatch time !!! After a long awaiting period I received my naked 3 palette and although I order on release day ups ground didn't run on Thursday - Sunday -__- so I received mine on Monday ! 

But I'm super excited to use it so I did all the swatches and in about a week I will be post a review. 

Now I do have Naked 1 & 2 so if you are interested on a comparison post let me know :)

Fall Lippies

Hey beauties,

I love rocking a dark bold lip during the fall and winter. This post is about my favorite bold lipsticks for the fall and winter plus two nude lipsticks and a berry neutral color (your lips but better) that's perfect when you don't want or know how to use dark lipstick. 

The prices of each lipstick will be listed below and you can always look for drugstore dupes. 

Revlon's Black Cherry- $7-8

This color has red and blue undertones. This is a deep maroon color and I love to deepen the color by lining my lips with a red and a black lip liner. 

Revlon's Va va violet- $7-8

This color is a pure dark purple and made for the daring ;) This color actually looks amazing with a nude face and lots of lashes as well as a orange based bronzed smokey eye. I have an earlier post on this color. 

Wet n wild's Ferguson Crest Cabernet-

$4-5 

This color is a blessing from the makeup Gods. It's a deep berry and great with jewel tones eye shadows or a nude face and lots of lashes. 

MAC Laugh a Lot - $15-16

This color is a your lips but better lipstick. If you are just starting with dark colors this is a great pick and very easy to use. This color is great with a full face or a nude face. 

MAC Peachstock - $15-16

One of my favorite nudes, this is a great fall nude, there's enough orange tones to not make you look pale and can be used with any makeup look. 

MAC Blankety - $15-16

Another one of my favorite nude, although this looks a lot like Peachstock in pictures they are two completely different colors. This color has a mauve undertone and also looks great with any type of look especially smokey eyes. 

With my nude lips I only use MAC Stripdown lip liner, it's my holy grail and I would never replace it. 

I don't necessarily use a lip liner for my darker lips but I would like to purchase some. I've seen some videos on Jordana's lip liners but I never find them so if you do want a lip liner be on the look out for those. 

And always remember exfoliate your lips before using any dark or nude lipstick and always moisturize !!

How I groom my brows

Hey dolls this post is all about my brows. I preferably thread my brows but if you wax or pluck continue doing so, this is just how I do mines. 

So I thread my eyebrows about every two or three weeks. In between that u tend to pluck unwanted hair and trim the longer pieces. 

I fill in my brows using either NYX eyebrow cake powder in dark brown or Anastasia Beverly Hills brow powder in medium brown. I fill in the spare areas and I try to keep them as natural as possible while still having them look polished and neat. I then go over them with a brow brush or a clean mascara wand to even out the powder and top them off with Anastasia Beverly Hills clear  brow gel. Any clear mascara would work but I feel that the Anastasia one works wonders for my unruly brows ! 

When I want a very polished look I do the steps mentioned above and also add a concealer under the brow and highlight with a matte highlight color but sometimes, for example with an all matte look, I use a shimmer highlight. Using the concealer will clean up any mistakes and make your brow bone pop giving you a polished look.

Fall Trends - Dramatic

Hey beauties, it's been a while ! So much is happening and it's so hard to keep up but I'm hoping to be back for good. I have tons if looks on my Instagram - jmichelle_xo so I will be trying to post them all here plus add new ones, today's post is the start of my favorite topics ! Fall looks !! I love fall it's so beautiful and cozy and the trends are amazing especially this time around. This look I did incorporates both heavy lips and heavy eyes. Not everyone would like this so remember you can always take what you like and have you're own twisted on the looks I post. 

I'm loving the orange bronzy looks so I paired that with a dark purple lip which turned out amazing. I hope you all like as well.

Get the look: Ashley Benson

Hey beauties ! Today's look is inspired by Ashley Benson, I just recent cut 5inches off my hair and thought hey now I can really do a get the look post based on Ashely Benson style, hair and makeup. Ashley is known for using dark smoldering colors to emphasize here blue eyes. Colors like black, golden shades, red/rust/orange colors will make blue eyes pop because red and blue are opposite on the color wheel. But as you can see, this particular look will work on all eyes colors because the contrast between a rust/orange color and black bring out different tones in the eyes. For example I have hazel green eyes, the black makes my eyes look amber and the rust/orangey tones bring out the golden tones in the green parts of my eyes, thus making my eyes pop. The same will happen with brown eyes, the rust will help brighten the amber tones in brown eyes.

Hair

Using the Cortex 4 in 1 curling wand take 1 to 2in sections of hair and start curling, alternating each piece. I wanted a texturized look to my curls to match Ashley's so I first sprayed White sands stuck up hair spray, this hair spray is great to use when curling hair because its made to work with heat. I divided my hair into sections sprayed the section, then started curling 1 to 2inch sections of the hair. Continue this process until you reach the top of your head. For the crown area you want body and volume so spray your white sands stuck up hair spray hold section up, under the hair, wait until it's dry and curl over the wand instead of under to creat volume. Once on the bangs you wanted to curl over the wand as well making sure the hair is curling away from the face. Once all the curls are done and the hair has cooled off a bit spray some more hairspray and finger comb the hair to give it bounce and texture. 

Clothes 

Ashley has a pretty laid back look in the picture I took inspiration from so I picked out a pair of patterned Victoria Secret yoga tights, a loose fitting graphic tank and added a pair of heels to top off the look.

Today's look is a sultry eye with a nude lip. I got inspired but the girls in Romeo Santos music videos ! They almost always have a similar look and it is very flattering on any eye color but if you have hazel eyes this look will emphasize and make you have that sexy smoldering look ;) !!!

In order to get that smoldering look you have to do a lot of blending so take your time starting off with the lightest color which should be your transition color and than little by little add the dark colors. Using colors like woodwinked and suspect also help because they are such soft and shimmery colors that are easily blendable just remember to go over each color once you blending is perfect, with black being the last color you apply so it can look sultry and "vibrant".

Easy smokey eyes

Hello beauties !! Today's post is on an easy dark smokey eye ! I love black smokey eyes, I find this is the fastest and easiest way to do so I hope you like it !

Start off with Mac Feline eye kohl, blend this color out with your finger then take a grayish taupe eyeshadow, I used on from an Estée Lauder palette, blend this color onto the crease to smoke out the Feline kohl. Using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette take Blackout and pack that on to the lid, a tip to avoid fall out is to tap not smudge the Blackout on the lid. Taking Busted from the Urban Decay Naked palette, blend that color into the crease, further blending out the Blackout shadow. On your brow bone use Urban Decay Naked 2 shadow in Foxy and Urban Decays Naked shadow in Virgin to bring light into the inner corners of your eyes. To finish off your look line your eyes slightly with a liquid liner, I used Lancôme felt tip liner along with lining your tightline and waterline with Feline and pack on the mascara, I used Lancôme doll lashes.

On my brows, which is very important when doing a dark smokey look, I used wet n wilds brow kit in dark brown. For the face I used L'oreal BB cream, Mac MSF natural, Tarte park avenue princess. And Dollface blusher. For a cheek highlight I used hard candys pinup and on the lips I used Mac Peachblossom l/s topped with Revlons Sunset Peach l/g
